The Liberty Tree Foundation for the Democratic Revolution is seeking three committed and qualified individuals to provide organizing services in three different program areas. Short descriptions follow.
1. Meeting Services: Democracy Convention III
Organizing for the third national Democracy Convention (August 2-6, Minneapolis) is underway, and we plan to hire one individual who can provide needed meeting services in the areas of:
Conference Logistics
Volunteer Coordination
Program Scheduling
This position begins immediately at quarter time (10 hr/week), will escalate to half time come June, and will be full time through the first weeks of August when the convention takes place. Compensation ($18-22/hr) commensurate with experience.
2. Organizing: Earth Day to May Day
Every year, the Global Climate Convergence, a project coordinated by Liberty Tree’s Climate Democracy Program together with partners, mobilizes a general Earth Day to May Day effort to strengthen ties between workers, poor people’s movements, and environmental campaigns. We are looking for one individual who can:
Seek out the involvement of local unions and other organizations across the U.S.
Track Earth Day to May Day events and post them on a website.
Locate and develop news and materials relevant to the campaign.
This position begins immediately at quarter time (10 hr/week) and runs through May 12th. Compensation ($14-18) commensurate with experience.
3. Organizing: SolidarityWith.US
Liberty Tree is building upon the initial launch of SolidarityWith.US, a global solidarity campaign to support the democracy movement within the United States. We are looking for one individual who can:
Seek out the involvement of activists and organizations on every continent.
Track solidarity actions and post news about them on our website.
Locate and develop news and materials relevant to the campaign.
The is position begins immediately at quarter time (10 hr/week) and runs through May, with the possibility of renewal. Compensation ($14-18) commensurate with experience.
